PRE-COLLEGE EDUCATION TASK FORCE
GUIDELINES FOR DECISION MAKING
2010

The following criteria will be used to make decisions about pre-college transformation strategies, methods, programs, and tools to explore system-wide.

Proposed strategies, methods, programs, and tools should:

· Have the ability for system-wide implementation while allowing colleges to maintain local control.


· Be scalable, replicative, and sustainable.


· Be based upon verifiable evidence and data.


· Demonstrate the ability to transition students further and faster to meet educational goals.


· Focus on programs and services that support students beginning in basic skills through the Tipping Point and beyond.


· Reduce the achievement gaps for underrepresented populations.


· Have support and backing from a wide range of constituent groups in the CTC system – administration, faculty and staff.
